The fact that makes human
beings the most powerful than any other creature is the excessive use of
resources of nature on earth. Looking back to our history, we have been using
the natural resources for living and other purpose and this process is like
inherent to the natural process. The rate and quantity of use of resources has
been rising and kissing the height of moon. In stone age, we could use stones
and other hard materials as the swords, the strength of Cro-Magnon of that age,
and gradually we learnt further use of materials. We had been hosted by the
nature and accepted that nature was our home, but doubted that it couldn’t
provide us security. That’s why our need of security invented idea of using
materials to make houses. Afterwards, our growing intellectual power made us
use lands for growing greens and raise creatures. Yes, nature has appreciated
this way of using natural resources till agricultural era.
We grew our intellectual
power so much that we started seeking resources beneath the surface of earth
surface. We discovered coal and natural oils and soon, the whole world was
dominated by the energy from beneath the earth surface. Was this necessary?
Wasn’t the earth giving us permission to use materials on its surface that we
needed to confiscated its resources. The earth healed these materials beneath
its surface to prevent nature from being polluted like now. We have applied really wrong way of use of resources and
suffocated earth and now we are just realizing that suffocation of our home
could affect us.
We are now facing serious
global threats due to excessive use of non-renewable resources. We have been
using coals, oils, diesel, petrol and so like other non-renewable resources
that is going to cause energy crisis in near future. I think, our behavior of
excessive use of natural fuels proves that we are from another planet as we are
doing like we are evacuating earth. We
discovered giant machinery and vehicles that used natural fuels boundlessly and
raised green house gases into the atmosphere and resulted global warming and
green house effect. Ice and polar caps are melting, sea level is rising,
forests are destroying, mountains are losing snow and turning dark, ozone layer
is depleting, worldwide temperature is rising and thousand of threats are ahead
of us. And it is going to show a fact that earth is going to lose habitability
is near future. Means, our future generation is at risk. We are about to finish
fuels, what will the future generation consume?
There are other resources
on the earth too, that are never going to end till its existence, and are known
as renewable resources. Then why are we insist the use of coals and oils that
is threat to us and our environment. Today we have technology that can make the
total replacement of non-renewable resources by the renewable resources. We
started mining coals because we started thinking that natural resources on
earth are insufficient for energy needs. Now the way of thinking should be
changed. We have lots of rivers, even tides on sea can be utilized for the
production of energy. Yes, they are being used but not excessively. Around 60%
of total energy demand in USA has been supplied by steam power plants. And
leaving few countries like Nepal, most of the developed countries are based on
energy generation from fossil fuels. If this condition continues, we are not
going to leave the use of fossil fuels till the date when it will totally be
evacuated from earth and then we will start using renewable resources
excessively. But that time it will be very late as earth, then, won’t be like
now and we can do only thing that is ‘regret’.
The environment of earth
is facing a huge threat due to global warming, air pollution, green house
effect and so other. Now is the time to raise the environment that is about to
ruin. Take a glow at the solar energy that is available everywhere and is never
going to finish. Look at the flow of the rivers that are always available.
Consider the flow of the air. Think about the energy from plant and animals.
Aren’t they all clean? Excessive energy can be generated from them and without
harming environmental balance. We can easily imagine how the future look like
with the electric vehicles, that will not produce smokes; magnetic trains that
can achieve fast transportation; smart grid that uses solar, wind and
hydro power electricity; smart city and advanced future technology. And these
all will be environment friendly and clean energy. The major cause of
environmental pollution is the use of fossil fuels. No renewable sources cause
pollution and emission of harmful gasses. The use of alternative energy sources
should fully replace the fossil fuels as the use of renewable energy resources
is crucial for the successful conservation of environment. Let’s cease the use
of fossil fuels and save energy for future generation and make alternative
energy generation project a grand one.
